Starting Saturday

I'm new to The Master Cleanse but not to fasting. Just read the book today online and then ordered it from Amazon. I am planning to do Master-Cleanse for 10 days at first.

I have done 5 fasts with fresh juices and some with protein shakes. My longest was for 9 days but that was about 10 years ago. I have struggled with weight gain and finally found out I am hypothyroid and am now taking 2 grains of Armour Natural Thyroid daily per my doctor and it has helped a lot. I am 42 years old, almost 43, 6'1" tall and weigh 238.8 lbs (UGH) so I am about 60 lbs overweight, a weight gain in the last 7 years or so. I know I need to detox but I also want to lose that weight. I also want to break my addictions to coffee and sugar. I've also been sober 18 years.

My question is this -- going off medications is recommended; however, I am reluctant to go off my thyroid medication. I also take 20 mg of Prozac although I used to take 3 other antidepressants with it and weaned myself off those with my doctor in the spring of '05. I did not do well off of everything so she put me back on the Prozac and that has worked for me.

At any rate, I know no one here is giving out medical advice but did anyone stop their prescriptions to do the MC?

Also, about exercise, I ran my first full marathon :0) on Jan. 15th! I love running and although I am a bit of a lumbering giantess I am in great shape and would like to continue running--do most of you keep exercising hard on Master-Cleanse or stick with lighter fare like (non power) yoga? I run about 4 times per week and do a core workout twice a week and then Bikram yoga twice a week. I thought I would save my long (10+ mile) runs for AFTER the MC. When I have fasted other times I was weak and did not really exercise.

My last question is this--the SWF (Salt-Water-Flush) sound like it would be difficult to do when one has to go to work in the morning. That's why I figured I would do days 1 and 2 on Saturday and Sunday to get the hang of it. Any of you work fulltime and do the Master-Cleanse successfully? Do I need to get up super early to allow a few hours for it to "work its magic?"

Thanks in advance for your responses!
