Iodine – a local health store has the following Iodine. Please…can you advice is this is an acceptable Iodine? I don’t have access to Amazon.com in Canada.
    Brand: Genestra Liquid Iodine 30ml
Each drop (0.05ml) contains Iodine (potassium iodide/kelp)- 150mcg; Alfalfa (Medicago sativa) Leave – 19.2 mcg; Dulse (Palmaria palamata) Fronds – 19.2mcg.
I am so happy I found a local source of this, but I need confirmation if this Iodine is OK?
    Thanks

      Kristina,
I would not nebulize with that-I have no idea how those other things will do in a nebulizer.

This is, without a doubt, the best (and most informative!) blog post I’ve ever read – and I was smiling the whole time I read it. Thanks, Dr. Brownstein. 🙂

Hi Dr. B Wondering about nebulizer use for when not sick but dry cough from typical seasonal allergies. Is there is a use for nebulizer to nourish and build lungs when there is no sign of infection or virus?

Appreciate your generosity with info you are finding about treating CoVid.

Thank you for all your information Dr. Brownstein!
If you don’t have any of these products but have a nebulizer and albuterol,, will the albuterol work the same way or at least be of some help with the virus?

I am not a patient but have followed you for years. I’ve read about what you are doing for your patients during this pandemic and think it has finally convinced me that I need to stop thinking about making an appt and just do it. I’m not sick, but if I do get sick with this I am worried because I’ve had lung issues recently as last November when ER diagnosed me with an internal shingles attack. I actually had very similar symptoms to what is happening with this virus and landed in ER twice. I started with stomach pain, migraine, stabbing back pain, body aches, more severe stomach pain, burning in my lungs, shortness of breath, fever of 103 for 3 days and a dry cough in that order. I also have reactive RA and thyroid issues. I control the RA with glucosamine Chondroitin and follow a gluten free diet. What would you do as a first visit and what is the cost. Thank you for all the good information you write about in your blogs.

Dr. Brownstein, can Covid-19 present as only a bad cold with severe nose congestion, muscle aches, eye pain, weird chest feeling and metallic taste but no fever and only slight cough? Last week I started with a sore throat and started your vitamin dosing strategy and it seems I ended up with a very bad cold due to the severe nose congestion. Could the dosing strategy have prevented it from going to my lungs? I am now on day 10 and much better but still have the nose congestion (but much better), but I have never had nose congestion this long with a cold. It has been almost 8 days. I stopped the high level vitamins. If I had covid could it come back after 10 days and feeling better? Thank you.

Should a person who has had a thyroidectomy and takes levothyroxine also take iodine as part of the supplement protocol for combatting coronavirus?

I’m a patient in the offices I have never nebulized before is there a particular brand you recommend?

    • Author Icon

      Wendy,
We are out of nebulizers right now. We expect them in soon but in today’s crazy world, who knows. We use John Bunn brand. I have not found much of a difference between different brands. They can be purchased online as well.

    Dr. B,

I don’t even know how to say this. You’ve covered all the bases (legal and hands-on). Game changer. Everyone needs to share this blog, and act responsibly.

    THANK YOU!

    Hi Dr. Brownstein!
I can’t tell you how grateful I am to have come across you during this time. It has taken so much of the fear out of what’s going on. I’m a 35 year old with hypothyroidism and also no ischemic cardiomyopathy, mitral valve prolapse with moderate regurgitation and ventricular tachycardia. Completely managed with a medication called Sotalol. I think I may be developing symptoms but I’m uncertain. Terrible headache yesterday and last night started with chills and terrible stomachache/nausea. Would it be wise to start your protocol now when showing symptoms of COVID or give it a few days? My heart stuff definitely scares me with this virus not knowing how bad it could affect me. I’m in the Houston area and would love to consult with you or one of your colleagues to make sure I’m doing this right, and safely especially with the medication I’m currently on. Thanks so much!

I’ve read that N95 face masks are in very short supply – and many doctors and nurses are unable to obtain them.

When you go out for groceries, etc. do you wear a non-N95 mask? I say non-N95 mask as it doesn’t make sense to wear N95 masks while getting groceries when physicians cannot get them for higher risk situations.

I’m just wondering as I saw the CDC was considering recommending face covering in public.

    • Author Icon

      FS,
I have not worn a face mask since I am well and not coughing. N95 masks should be reserved for those that truly need them.

    Hi,
Myself and my 2 daughters (Samantha and Heidi Zuber) are patients of yours. We saw Jenny on 3/16/20. Can I please order 2 of the nebulizer kits? Please let me know how to order them.

    Thank you!
    Amanda
