Any article you read (CDC, NIH) says that you need to take both Ivermectin and Albendazole. Ivermectin will not kill adult parasites. It only kills larval stages. Alben does not kill larval stages well but does kill adults.
I have tried several protocals for taking alben and the 400mg twice a day just doesn't work well. 2ml or 220 mg every six hours works much better. It keeps you level of the drug up all the time. I also don't take it more than 3 days in a row. Because of the reaction I take it every 6 hours from Friday night to Sunday evening. It is slowly diminishing the encysted parasites. Depending on how long you have had them it may take years of constant treatment to get rid of all of them. I've been at it 6 years and figure (hope) I have about 2 years left.
Fenbendazole works great on large round worms but does not work well for strongyls/pin worms. I'm just talking from experience here.
It doesn't usually make you feel sick or sleepy but it's effect is limited.
