Bowel Issues, IBS, or other?

Hi everyone!

First post here, so apologies if there are any issues with the format.

A few months ago (around July) I suddenly had an incredibly bad bout of diarrhea for 3 days. It came out of nowhere, and gradually got better. I noticed the follwing red bits floating about, completely separate of the stool which was otherwise normal in color. There was no major pain or discomfort, and I felt completely fine. Other than some slight abdominal pain on the left side, and a complete lack of appetite for the days this occurred. In terms of medical history, I have IBS and that's about it. Nothing like this has ever happened before. I've gone to two different doctors since then, got blood tests, and it all came back clean. No signs of inflammation, nor white blood cell increase, and my liver seemed healthy based on the results. Since then I have not had any other occurrences (in fact my BM's have been great!) until recently when I noticed a VERY small amount of the bright red substance, and some very slight abdominal pain, which raised some concern, and brought me here. None of the doctors could put a finger on what it was, and my primary speculated it might've been sloughed intestinal lining I passed.

I'd also like to add that around the time this occurred, within the same week, I'd been eating a lot of fruits from a friends organic garden. Oddly enough, he'd also told me he was seeing very similar things in his BM's around the same time, and even sometime thereafter my issues had resolved. It's purely speculation, and since not eating anymore of his food I've been fine. Haha. Who knows?

Here are a few images of the substance:

I have an image that relates to many others I've found on Google, and this site relating to liver flukes:
https://www.curezone.org/upload/Parasites/Forum_01/IMAG1784.jpg

That was a picture I took a day before I began seeing the red substance in my stool. Prior to taking this there were A LOT of these tube-like skins in the toilet. These were not present, however, when I was passing the red substances the following days. I have seen little bits of them here and there in my stool since then, but nothing massive or in high quantity. In another site someone had reported their GI doc told them these types of casings were hardened mucus that passed in their stool. Also, I'm not taking any capsule pills.

In short, my research had led me to believe there may have been, and even may still be liver flukes in my system. Or some parasite. My own pictures above seem to match a lot of others people have taken, and I'd very much like to get the thoughts of anyone here who could shed some light on whether or not this actually might've been a parasite infection. If so, what should I be doing? As stated earlier, it's been months since anything major has happened, and if there is still something I'm unaware of, how can I go about identifying it and treating it properly? Maybe it is just a symptom of IBS? I honestly don't know what it could be, or if it could be something entirely unrelated to any of these subjects.

Any input would be very much appreciated, and I'd be happy to answer any further questions.

Thanks!
