Role of Beta Carotene Absorption and Diabetes

For a long time, we have known that Type 1 Diabetics fail to absorb beta carotene sources effectively. Many health professionals continue to believe that Palamite is the only source of A that diabetics can absorb.

There is also a very common trend among several Type 1's in respect to the inability that such individuals have to digest various plant/vegetable sources. This concept has long been established, and it is the basic structure of this principal, many believe, that might be behind several of the pigmentation disorders that we find among those with the condition.

My question to all of you is, has anyone ever come across literature/opinions that explain for why it might be that diabetics struggle to absorb beta carotene properly? Have any of you come across any type of basic ideology that might offer some explanations into what might cause some of the varioius pigmentation disorders many diabetics suffer with? I would appreciate any reply that any of you might be able to offer me in respect to such questions. Thank you for your time.
