Black specks day ten of period.

Hi, i'm new here but have read curezone on and off over the years. I've done a search for this problem (?) And can't find anything so would really like to know if others have had anything similar or might know what is going on. Here goes.

I'm 43. One child born via caesarian in 2006. Periods had dwindled to barely 4 days.

I started supplementing wih iodoral in january. 12.5mg a day and building up to 25mg in two doses.

Last period was 6 days. Had cramps all the way through which ended with me passing a fairly large black clot on the final day. (Better out than in).

This period, i'm on day ten! And have been having brown bloody smears when wiping ( sorry tmi). In the last two days these have been accompanied by black specks which on close examination don't seem to be clots. I'm guessing my body is getting rid of 43 years of junk build up? Any thoughts please? Does this go away? I should also mention i'm taking serrapeptase for my fatty liver.
