Kidney pain....Please advise!
Hello, I'm new here... but I have benefited numerous times from reading the posts here...
so thank you all!
I hope I'm posting this in the correct place... This site is overwhelming on my little phone... so please forgive as I get familiar with how things here work.
I've been using Iodoral 12.5 daily since Jan 1st, as well as the companion supplements. I've tried going to a pill and a half, and while my inflammation and energy do well at that dose I've gone back to the one pill because it seems to bother my kidneys more. I have been salt-pushing mostly on an as needed basis, usually for brain fog or achiness.
Two days ago I had a sudden onset of urethra pain which I suspected was possibly the beginning of a UTI. I learned about Bernard's Solution, (
SSKI , Saturated Solution of Potassium Iodide), to battle a resistant Klebsiella UTI I had back in November...which I believe had been alleviated.
So I skipped the Iodoral and started the
SSKI at 15 drops every 3 to 4 hours which is the protocol for UTI. I also skipped the companion vit's thinking I would give my liver and kidneys a couple days rest... don't know if that was so smart.
So the first day the pain continued in waves throughout the day. The second day it seemed to decrease and I thought it was finally kicking butt.
Then last night at 2:30 AM I awoke with severe intense flank pain on the right side. I thought it was some kind of cramp or that maybe I needed to use the bathroom. I pee'd a bit but quickly got up as the pain was intensifying. I started thinking it had to either be a UTI that had gone up to my kidney...but how could that be with taking all the
SSKI , no fever or chills etc.... Or that it could be a kidney stone...which can often start late at night or early in the morning. I quickly chugged a few Chanka Piedre capsules with lemon and olive oil water and also had a small dose of
Epsom Salts to dilate my ureters. I was moaning in pain, had my boots and coat on and was ready to rush to the ER. But I held out a little longer... And within a few more minutes the pain became bearable. I was eventually able to go to sleep and avoid the ER. I'm not sure what helped or even what it was. It didn't occur to me at the time that it could be detox because it was SO much worse than my previous kidney aches. Today I seem to be achy in both kidneys although I have not taken any Iodine.
So a couple of questions....
Does anyone have a hunch on what happened?
Is salt-pushing safe to do if one suspects kidney stones?
And what should I eat? I'm completely paranoid that the pain will return if I do something wrong!
I don't want to give up because of detox...it's been so helpful to me and I truly wish to push forward into a new realm of healing and health. I'm just not sure if I'm handling things the proper way.
Thank you in advance for reading this very long post... and for any advice you have to give!
