Re: severe lower back pain while water fasting
Hello all, I started reading this forum in the middle of a sleepless night. Same issues. I am now on day 4 of my
Water Fast - stopping at day 5. I had slight back pain in last evening that escalated when I went to bed (prior to laying down). It was not a sharp pain but much like has been described. Almost like something pulled. Persistent enough where I could not sleep for more than a short period of time. Finally read this forum and located a heating pad. That helped some - although the lower back pain has persisted into today. Also have a sinus headache that I have had since day one (I often get sinus headaches but not for this long).
I was really tempted to take Ibuprofen but I would not do that on an empty stomach and fear it would cause more harm than good. I have been adding a small (pinch) amount of Himalayan pink salt to my water but not often enough and maybe not enough at a time. I am now (as I write) drinking a water with about a dime size in my palm of Himalayan salt. I am hoping this helps at least a little.
I will be trying an
Epsom Salt bath and if I can locate Castor oil packs I may try that too (none seem to be in stock near me). Short of that possibly Castor oil on the back with a heating pad.
Tomorrow I break this fast at night. Going to use bone broth and MCT oil. Not sure if the pain will subside then or later. But this is getting difficult to deal with on an hour of sleep. If anyone has any suggestions I am open.
Thanks.
