Why risk it?

I don't really understand why people get on the Iodine protocol?

I've found countless cases of people going on the Iodine protocol ending up with thyroid cancer, hashimotos and necessary removal of the thyroid gland.

5% of people have hashimotos at some point, and Iodine has been shown many, many times to induce hypo/hyperthyroid and hashimotos, sometimes during an iodine urine test of 50mg. This means that even one dose could trigger hashimotos.

You guys all take it for 3 months if I recall? 50 to 100mg a day?

I've read many accounts of people desperately wishing more than anything they'd never tried the iodine protocol. These are people who had normal iodine levels, TSH and thyroid antibody levels. There is no way to possibly predict if and when you will trigger a thyroid disease, or even lead to complete removal of your thyroid gland, then what? What's the protocol for no thyroid gland?

How does this seem like a good idea to anyone?

Why Dr Brownstein isn't in jail is beyond me. I guess because he constantly reminds people while purchasing his iodate, that it isn't approved for medical use, and he isn't endorsing it's use as a supplement.
