According to my father, who was a milk man back in the late 1940's, early 1950's and who grew up drinking it as a child on the farm; said that the milk wasn't processed and there was nothing added to it. That is why the milk man used to come every 2-3 days for households that had children or where there was a lot of cooking. Think the Donna Reed Show or Leave It To Beaver. Remember the glass quart jugs the milkman would bring. If you buy raw milk it should only last a day or two.
