Well you're preaching to the choir in a sense with me. :) I'm even surprised the illusion of freedom is still as strong as it is at this point and that for many of us, it still feels pretty free, even though I'm sure it isn't. I'm always gearing up for things to come crashing down at any time.

Yeah, it's the law to let the police know you have a gun on you. I'm sure he says it better than, "I have a gun!" :) But however he says it, it works in his favor.

Well the grandfather I was talking about got injured very badly from being stabbed himself. So one argument is that if someone is on a mission to kill, not having a gun is not going to stop them. But of course, most can't do mass killings with just a knife, but then there are other ways to do mass killings like running over a bunch of people with a big truck like the incident in Nice, France.
