Question: Polyps development

One member of my family is 73 years old and has developed polyps in her uterus. The doctor has suggested to do a test for tumor growth.

Could someone please indicate:
(1) Whether such testing would lead to cutting off the tissue as sample and spreading of the cancerous growth?
(2) Is there any other test that does not require cutting the tissue as sample though could give reliable results?
(3) The reason for such abnormal growth?
(4) What treatment under naturopathic way is suggested to remove these?
