Those herbs do change how the body works, but there is never a permanent change unless we, who are creating our own worlds of experience, choose either consciously or unconsciously for it to be so.

You've been diligent with the Wormwood , but it is clear it has had a wrong effect on you. It has bitter elements in it which are known to create a sense of euphoria or well-being after its been used at length- an addicting effect. It does change the way neurons work, by binding some receptors.

In your shoes my personal choice would be a Water Fast and prayer to Jesus for pure spiritual guidance on what to do and how to do it. Purification is best done by the body's own mechanisms, and He is the original creator and designer of the herbs. You've got the equipment in you to talk to him directly, though it can take some time to get around the beast of pride and low self-worth that keeps Him out.
