Re: New scam product from Jim Humble - "MMS2"
Humble does NOT sell the stuff. There is no need for him to do that. All you have to do is buy the gelatin capsules and buy the cheap calcium hypochlorite and stuff the capsules.
I take this stuff when I have something coming on. I woke up yesterday with the early warning signs of a diverticulitis episode. So I took one capsule in the morning with plenty of water and some food, and again later in the day. Today I woke up feeling better and have taken one more to be on the safe side.
The only negative side effects occur for me if I don't eat enough food and I end up burping 'pool water.'
You are correct in that calcium hypochlorite is what they use usually to shock swimming pools with. If this stuff was truly dangerous like Sodium hypochlorite (bleach) they would NOT allow anyone to use it in swimming pools.
But you are not correct in implying that Humble is out there selling calcium hypochlorite pills. You've got to make them yourself. I imagine other people have done that, but that is just foolishness.
Now, you might say, what if someone takes WAY TOO MUCH of this stuff? Well then, there would be a real cause for concern and they'd need medical treatment. At the same time, it's important to know that if you take WAY TOO MUCH
table salt , or drink WAY TOO MUCH water, both those things will kill you, and they'll do it more quickly than Calcium Hypochlorite.
It's that way with everything. Almost anything you take whether it's medicines, vitamins, pain killers, liquor, or many other things we consume every day that these things if taken in excess can have severe consequences, sometimes death.
