Re: Help me! Im starving

You've gotten good replies from our members.

Hopefully you'll tell us more about your diet and the supplements you've tried.

I'd definitely continue with the support for stomach acid. You could also include apple cider vinegar, zinc, table salt , some iodine, etc.

I think you also need zinc to convert DHEA towards testosterone. Those steroid hormones are made from cholesterol. Maybe you are not able to absorb it. Was your cholesterol low?

You need stomach acid to absorb minerals needed to raise your pH and to absorb minerals such as zinc and iron. A messed up gut ecosystem might also affect absorption of iron in another way.

Ascorbic acid--one form of vitamin C--with meals could be considered. It should help you to absorb minerals. Vit C is also involved in production of collagen.

I lost weight while trying to gain it when I had a parasite. A Metametrix stool test reported two parasites that were consistent with my symptoms, especially needing to rush to the toilet at least twice per day on short notice.

Did you ever have a stool test for parasites, candida, and gut bacteria?

Do you have a history of taking Antibiotics ? Maybe your gut ecosystem is messed up. Dr Ruggiero has interesting youtube videos on the subject. He probably is one of the best in the world on that topic.

History of candida/yeast infections?

Ever try probiotics and yogurt?

Do you tolerate whey powder?

Have you ever tried juicing in order to get maximum nutritional benefit and ease of digestion?

I assume you never had gastric bypass surgery.

Did you have your vitamin D tested, especially in the Winter. If I were you I'd try to get plenty of sunlight when possible in the UK to try to absorb more Vit D.

A natural or functional medicine doctor would probably also want to know more about your stools--color, consistency, regularity.
