this is similar to how patent laws prevent people from innovating on what already is made.

many people can make i phones in their basement and sell it for less, but are unable to sell them due to trademark.

the chinese already steal the technology and sell it for less.

i'm not sure what are the implications of giving everything away for free though, would it discourage research, would other countries use the information against us, or would it force everyone to get along.

we are all beneficiaries of the inventions of others before us, and this website is a good example in terms of free health care information.
