Charcoal adsorbs toxins. It is not 'decaying organic matter' (so it does not provide nourishment for yeast). It is not Sugar (so it does not cause the fermentation process creating alcohol & gas).

I see no reason that one should avoid charcoal in the presence of a yeast overgrowth.
