Re: ? for Dr. Jeff
Part of having fungal candida and past antibiotic use is that it decreases the Hydrochloric acid (HCL) levels in the stomach. This leads to difficulty digesting meats, absorbing protein, B12, Folic acid, Calcium, Magnesium, and a list of pother nutrients. It is also stated that as we age, our HCL levels decrease. You may want to supplement with HCL to increase absorption of nutrients.
For building muscle mass, you're better off using Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAA) and Creatine. Whole whey protein may not do too much for you.
If you're putting weight before health, that can create difficulty for you. We usually see people increase their ability to digest and sorb protein by about Week 6 of the Plan.
If you're just wanting to put on weight. I would consume a raw butter, raw cheese, and raw honey diet -http://rawpaleo.com/tag/aajonus-vonderplanitz/page/2/.
That puts on weight, but does it make you healthier? It may help to detoxify toxins from your body, as raw fats do.
Raw meat is easy to digest and does wonders for increasing muscle strength and mass.
