Re: ? for Dr. Jeff
This is a shorter version of my first post. Dr. Jeff, I'm writing to you because I feel your plan makes more sense....what you say about the undecenoic acid converting fungal cells back into harmless yeast cells. I'm 65, have Peripheral Neuropathy...numbness all over my body...and it seems that my body has gone into starvation mode. Based on many blood tests, etc., and normal results, I've fortunately not progressed to the autoimmune stage. I've eaten the wrong foods all my life, and despite being concerned about Candida overgrowth for many years, I haven't done anything about it long-term. I want to go on your plan, but we live on a very tight budget. I can't really do everything perfectly...buy the supplements and grass-fed or pastured meat, etc. I actually don't like meat and have trouble eating it, and I'm also used to eating in moderation. I've been on another Candida diet since early August, and I feel better but I'm losing weight faster than I was before. I'm 5' 8" and about 100#. Normal for me used to be about 145#. Do you feel that at my age I can turn this around, get out of this starvation mode, if I follow your plan as best I can, take the undecenoic acid, but eat regular meat, veggies and fruits? I recently stocked up on some very simple grass-fed whey protein powder and normally use unsweetened coconut and almond milks...part of my regiment of substituting partially for meat. Would I also mess up if I continue with them? As it is, it's very hard for me to stuff enough calories in. And can I even gain weight and muscle until I try to deal with leaky gut? Thanks for any guidance you can give me!
