? for Dr. Jeff

I just recently found your Candida plan, Dr. Jeff, while googling something related. Briefly, I am 65, live off the grid on a remote mountain side, low-income, and have Idiopathic Peripheral Neuropathy. In my case, I've been numb all over my body for more than a year, with lesser degrees of numbness for longer than that. I was briefly put on Medicaid last summer and am back on it along with Medicare now. So I've had a lot of blood tests, and some MRI's and X-Ray's. Except for my blood serum being high in B-12.....and I now have some understanding how a methylation cycle block can cause that, as I was getting very little of the B's last year and I've never been a big meat eater...everything else is negative or within the normal range. I initially lost about 25# during the fall of 2012, without any intention to do so. My height is about 5' 8" and prior to that I pretty consistently weighed about 145#. Back then I did notice that the bottom of my feet had been numb for a while. I maintained at 120#, no matter what I ate, until last summer when I started dropping weight again. Just over a year ago, all my teeth were removed. I lost all of my silver amalgam fillings, but I had and still do have problems with the dentures. All last fall I ate lots of my comfort foods...went way overboard on my usual eating in moderation, had cut out most sugars, etc...and consumed a lot of pumpkin pies, big sugary muffins, croissants, cheese and other dairy as well as, bread, other baked goods and some chocolate candy. I know from that experience that eating like that didn't put any weight on me as I continued to lose and felt really bad...exhausted, etc. I've known about Candida yeast overgrowth since about 2002 or so. I made some minimal attempts to do something about it, but didn't really believe I could stick to the diet. After doing a good bit of research for the past couple of months, knowing that I had mono when I was about 15, I'm sure I've had systematic yeast overgrowth for a very long time. Forgot to mention that just prior to all my reading I tried eating healthier but not as concerns Candida...drank lots of fruit juices, etc., so it was a big shock when I finally realized that Candida overgrowth was probably causing all of my problems. I also learned more about B-12 deficiency and mercury toxicity and suspect they may play a role as well. My questions for you, Dr. Jeff, have to do with your diet plan...some of the "no foods." I've been on another Candida diet since early August, and in that one certain things were allowed if one needed to gain weight that you don't allow. I just splurged on buying almost 6# total of grass fed, very simple whey protein powder, with no sweeteners. I am feeling somewhat better for eating better and surprisingly no real cravings. But my biggest focus must be on gaining some weight and muscle. At the beginning of this month I weighed 106#, but now I'm down to about 100. All I am is mostly bones, saggy skin and a little bit of fat...I can't even see or feel muscle anymore. Because I don't like meat much, I've been relying on this protein powder, almond butter, sunflower seed butter, unsweetened almond and coconut milk...blender shakes and in cooked foods..for some of my calories. Not to mention the organic ground flaxseed, hemp protein powder with fiber, etc. that I use to try to stay somewhat regular. I know I'm not getting anywhere near the calories I need and plan to eat more meat starting next month....we get our Social Security retirement early each month and do most of our shopping then. We can't afford grass-fed meat and not much of anything organic, and the Thorne SF722 is very pricey for me for a two-week supplement. I do have one on hand, but I'm trying to figure out the timing of it all...all aspects in place..which is hard to do. Not having indoor plumbing here will also make it hard to do the sweating detox but I'm going to try. I also can't afford to buy other supplements to keep me regular if I can't continue to use what I'm already stocked up on. So in my case, must I stay off of everything on your no list? And do you feel your plan will help me enough so that I don't lose too much more weight but start gaining instead? I'm so sorry this is so long. Thank you so much for your time and consideration!
