One of the biggest myths in the health world revolves around calcium. Pretty much nobody is deficient in calcium, there were traditional cultures consuming a 10th of the calcium that we consume, with great teeth and strong bones.
Osteoporosis, heart disease, kidney stones, high blood pressure, and cavities are caused by 2 main problems:
1. Micronutrient deficiency: bone building requires vitamin A, not beta carotene which IS NOT vitamin A, vitamin K2, vitamin D3, and magnesium. All of these are very deficient in our diet. Too much calcium and too little of these micronutrients will mean bone and teeth loss, and calcium deposits in arteries and cells, leading to high blood pressure and heart related diseases.
2. Stressors which put the body in an emergency sympathetic dominant state. The biggest stressors are things that health conscious people frequently do: eat insufficient calories, drink fluid beyond thirst, eat too little salt, too little carbs, get too little sleep, exercise too much, and are too mentally stressed. When in a sympathetic dominant state, all normal body functions are suppressed, including bone building. NO AMOUNT OF MICRONUTRIENTS WILL STOP OSTEOPEROSIS, CAVITIES, AND OTHER CALCIUM RELATED ISSUES IF YOU ARE IN A SYMPATHETIC DOMINENT STATE!
