I am writing on behalf of my sister, who developed erythromelalgia right after having mirena put in. not to mention a host of other problems. But i write because of something we have stumbled upon that may be of help to others. I was talking to an acupuncturist friend of mine whose first question was had my sister ever had a c-section or epidural. Well she has had both, plus other uterine traumas. Well, according to my friend, according to a particular type of acupuncture known as kiiko matsumoto acupuncture (japanese) health in women radiates out from the uterous, and imbalances there first show up in the extremities.
Anyway, now we are investigating getting her this treatment or at least directing her local accupuncturist to do some work balancing abdominal area. I think the mirena was the straw that broke the camels back for her.
and P.S. my sister is getting some noticeable relief with supplement called alpha lipoic acid combined with gabapentein, but still has a long way to go.
