I agree on the point of being an example. Loved ones can not and should not be forced to change. I had hard time accepting that and watching them suffer and shorten their lives ... but we all have a mind and right to choose, so I started respecting their stubbornness more and care less about the consequences. I've done my job. I can't do their job.
When I was a teen, I got my inspiration from books on ha-tha yoga and the yogi who looked in superb shape and abilities - Indian as well as European. Then I found the books of Shelton and Russian fasters - Suvorin and others. Got further inspired :) I have to thank my father that he collected these book (practicing minimally though), so that I was able to stumble on them at home :) Other than that, these were a rarity where I am from.
