I have so far had no trouble finding a doctor. I had already been established with two different sets of doctors, one traditional medicine, and one holistic. Both had been trying to figure out what was going on with me... and they could see it was something.
When I got the test for strongyloides I think they were relieved to finally have a positive result on something that they could actually treat. My holisitic doctor was happy to prescribe Vemox and Ivermectin. The other doctor, my Primary Care, has referred me to a Tropical Disease specialist in their group. I'm kind of thinking that is where we belong, since this is not a normal
parasite for this area, and these doctors haven't treated it very often. At least in my case, because I'm older and also diabetic, I think it would be smart to have someone who knows their worms to treat it!
I don't understand why getting a doctor is such a problem here (in this forum)... particularly if you have a positive blood test or stool test. I do think I got lucky.
