MY DIARY While Taking Albendzole - shows symptoms & suffering.


ALBENDAZOLE ROUTINE & SYMPTOMS

Note: No topicals or steroid creams used while on Albendazole. Rubbing alcohol squirted on any nips or twice a day on known infested areas.


24/10/13 Started Albendazole Australian Generic brand drench 5mls every 12 hours

28/10/13 Pus in sores.

29/10/13 Itchy, annoyed

12/11/13 Bites for 3 days 10mls every 12 hours

17/11/13 Realised on wrong dose of Australian Generic brand drench
(weaker % than Valbazen)
Increased to 20mls every 12 hours

19/11/13 Started on Praziquantel 50mg per day for 10 days (DONT BOTHER WITH IT)

22/11/13 3 small bruise-like marks

23/11/13 Itch on body & head

25/11/13 Itch

26/11/13 Spot on bum like a bite

27/11/13 Bites on head & feet

30/11/13 Vibration feeling in feet Finished Praziquantel

8/12/13 Itch & spots all over arms

9/12/13 Infection arms – itch spots Started Amoxil x 1st dose (4) 500mg
Every 6 hours

11/12/13 Started VALBAZEN Brand 5mls every 12 hours in half a glass or milk
DAY – 1

Started Dog 11 years old (6kg – 14lbs) & Cat 19 years old (4kg – 10lbs) on POINT FIVE of a ML x every 8 hours with the rest of the 1ml syringe filled to the top with pure cream to ensure absorption. Both Dog & Cat did not exhibit scratching beforehand. Started scratching Day 4/5.


13/12/13 Finished Amoxil
DAY - 3

14/12/13 Pain in leg muscles/bones
DAY - 4

20/12/13 Noticed a bad taste in mouth and and back of throat. (Sinus infection?)
Started Amoxil Every 5-6 hours For 6 days
DAY - 10

21/12/13 Started 8 hourly dose 5mls every 8 hours in half a glass of milk
DAY – 11

Started dog 6kg – 14lbs & Cat 4kg – 10lbs on POINT FIVE of a ML x every 8 hours. Neither animal has experienced any side effects at all or loss of appetite. The cat, though, is very annoyed at being bothered 3 times a day.

22/12/13 Intense leg pain (I do have fibromyalgia but usually little pain)
DAY - 12

23/12/13 Nausea
DAY - 13

24/12/13 Nausea and poo (large formed bowel movements x 3 times a day)
DAY - 14

25/12/13 Herx Nurofen for Temp & Stemetil x 2 every 5 hours
DAY – 15 Stemetil & Nurofen makes nausea very manageable

26/12/13 Nips on feet – small
DAY - 16

27/12/13 7 purple bruise spots - right arm
DAY - 17 Sores on top of feet a bit sore and a bit swollen Some nips

29/12/13 Nausea less last 3 days Nurofen x 1 every 5 hours & Stemetil x 1
DAY - 19

29/12/13 Almost unnoticeable nips on top of feet Sores flattened again and not tender
DAY - 20

Dog scratching a small amount once every day or two.

30/12/13 Feel I am within days of no symptoms
DAY - 21 Red/purple spots almost gone

Have not started Doxy, it has not arrived yet.

1/1/14 A lot of crawling sensation today. Needed Benadryl
Dog scratching a lot.
DAY – 22

DAY – 22 – 26 Intense nips around 6pm Getting me down

5/1/14
DAY – 26 Lesser (smaller) nips today

Day – 28 Less nips. Read 'So Sick of This' posts on Topix & decided to put up to 7.5 every 12 hours and cream. 10Mls liquid cream added to doses.

DAY – 29 Herx again. Nauseous. Temp. Bad taste/smell back of throat again.
Started Amoxil again.

DAY – 30 Herx. + mild pain in left kidney area + still slight faint nips

10/1/14
DAY – 31 Herx + lots of small nips when standing outside in the dark

DAY – 32 Herx + still bad taste/smell. Dog's skin smells weird.

Nips every single day, maddening. Still herxing, still smell/bad taste.

DAY - 39 Put dose up to 10mls twice a day. Dogs dose to 1.5mls twice a day.
Started Doxycycline twice a day. Started dog as well twice a day.
Also upped fat intake with doses.

DAY - 41 Think I might have lyme. Nauseous every day + fevers & weird smells

DAY – 43 Very faint nips only, not many. 2 in 24 hours, not acid ones.
Today when I woke up my feet felt dried out under the skin and the skin felt tight all day

Can't remember what day I ran out of Valbazen. Between DAY 43 & DAY 50

DAY – 50
Took 25 - 50mg praziquanel over 48 hours big nips disappeared getting more.
Gave dog 50mg every 6 hrs.
Fevers coming back.

DAY – 54
Bad smell/taste coming back
5 x 50mg praziquantel 3 times a day – for 4 doses

Bought more Doxy PLUS Azithromycin
Dose will be Doxy 100mg twice a day for a month
Azithromycin 500mg once a day for 2 weeks (30 pills in bottle)

Dog get his dose.

Praziquantel Powder
The dose for 67 kilos is 1675 mg.
Which is one third of a teaspoon - 3 times a day.

After I ran out of Valbazen I alternated Ivermectin and Praziquantel every second day.

DAY - 58
FRIDAY 7TH FEB
Started Doxycycline 100mg twice a day
Plus Azythromcyin 250mg twice a day
SUNDAY 9TH FEB
Put dose up to:-
Doxycycline 2 pills twice a day = 200mg x 2
Azythromycin 250mg twice a day

DO THIS FOR TWO WEEKS. DID IT FOR SEVEN DAYS ONLY. MAKES VERY NAUSEOUS.

WHEN RUN OUT OF VALBAZEN USE VERMOX (CHEMIST) MEBANDAZOLE
2x 100mg twice a day with fatty meal

DAY 65 TO DAY 69
Did PRAZIQUANTEL FOR FOUR DAYS WITH VERMOX BECAUSE NO ALBENDAZOLE.

THEN DO VERMOX OR ALBEN TWICE A DAY ONLY (IF IT ARRIVES) FOR 10 DAYS.

THEN TAKE A WEEK OFF AND REPEAT 4 DAYS ON ALBEN PLUS PRAZI THEN ALBEN ONLY.

Bad Depression episode lasting over a week hubby stayed home

DAY 1 SECOND ROUND
WEDNESDAY 26TH FEBRUARY
VALBAZEN ARRIVED
STARTED ON DOSE OF 10MLS TWICE A DAY
DOG ON 1and a half mls twice a day

Initially took with praziquantel for a day but decided should not be necessary if dose is right.

WAS ONLY ON RIGHT DOSE OF TEN MLS TWICE A DAY FOR 7-10 Days all UP initially.

DAY 6 SECOND ROUND

Purple patch on left forearm and right forearm size of large matchhead. 3 smaller ones on right upper arm

Nips on feet still. Slight. Small. Must soak feet in hot water one hour after dose.
