Well I think it's huge that you've cut back, even if you haven't phased it out all the way or still have moments you give in. That is ok, gotta give yourself a little wiggle room and margin for error, no one is perfect haha!
Plus the all or nothing mentality is not always perfect, moderation is key. So long as you keep refined sugars to a minimum and don't indulge too often you should probably reap some solid health benefits.
One of my little "tricks" is I basically don't have any foods in the house that have refined sugars. Much harder to snack on the stuff when it's not around hehe.
