Silent GERD, many health issues, etc.

Hi! I'm Ilija, 20 years old, male. You could be the one changing my life for the better, so please read my post and respond.

I struggle from many health issues, at my very young age. I have severe fatigue, brain fog, an autoimmune disease called alopecia areata, migraines and whatnot. The brain fog is so bad that at times I don't feel human anymore.

For the last few years, my teeth have constantly gotten worse. I've went to the dentist to check them out and sure enough she diagnosed silent GERD.

Silent GERD pretty much means GERD without you noticing it. This probably happens at night. The acid stuff goes from your stomach back up into your mouth where it silently attacks your teeth.

I've been suspecting a gut dysbiosis and low stomach acid. Let's concentrate on the low stomach acid for a moment.

I've started taking betaine HCl with pepsin a few days ago and have gone up two 2 capsules a meal without noticing any discomfort. According to scdlifestyle.com this is a clear indicator that I have too little stomach acid.

There are a few things that seem to contradict this conclusion though.

1. I only have acid reflux very occasionally
2. I have very little digestive problems in general
3. I'm not nutrient deficient
4. I have no undigested food in my stool

Point 1 might be a side effect of the silent GERD but it's kind of hard for me to believe that my low stomach acid is so bad that it's not even hurting my esophagus.

Things that I've tried is improving my diet, eating kefir daily for the past few months but nothing has really changed.

So I pretty much have two questions:

1. What about those contradictions?
2. What do you recommend me to try?

I'm a little concerned about continuing the HCl because, well, it's acid and not something to mess with.
