Re: Drug or Alcohol Problem?

Alcoholism is a chronic condition. Like any other condition, if left untreated, it can cause fatal consequences. It can be cured through proper counseling as well as detoxification program. Detoxification is an important initial step. Patience is required as it takes a lot of effort and time to overcome this condition. There ought to be a proper plan when it comes to treatment. It depends on the symptoms the person encounters. Hence the focus should be on identifying the symptoms. A detox program may last for a few days or even to more than a week depending on the condition. My friend, who suffered from a similar condition went for an alcohol detox programme in Vancouver for a period of three days. He had minimal symptoms and was able to prepare himself well for the rehabilitation program. The rehab will take more time ranging from a month to more than a year. Gradually things will fall into place as this requires us to remain patient. After all, patience is virtue.
