It's possible, but I doubt that mites have anything more than a casual/secondary involvement. My exterminator, Nurse Practitioner, and Dermatologist don't think I'm kooky, but they see no mites. The CEHF, Mayo Clinic, CDC, and Carnicom Institute all use powerful microscopy, and don't report mites.
I can't see a connection between mites and: fruiting bodies, dot patterns, colored fibers, brown "sticks", and clear/yellow/black goo.
That said, there are Youtube videos that clearly show mites and/or rotifers creeping around Morgellons artifacts. So there likely is some involvement for certain sufferers.
