I think you are experiencing the high cortisol phase of adrenal fatigue. I too went through a phase like that where I was "wired but tired." I could only sleep 1-3 hours per night. What helped me tremendously was getting a hair analysis done through trace elements. I had a really high potassium value and I used calcium for a while to lower it. Within a few days, it had improved my sleep tremendously. Get a hair test done and I will have no problem looking at it. I would not use Licorice root at this stage. It actually inhibits the breakdown of cortisol so it's effects are in you for a longer period of time. Cortisol causes sodium and water retention resulting in the moon face you were experiencing in the other thread you posted.
PLEASE DO NOT GO ON ANTIDEPRESSANTS. They will make things a lot more difficult. They are not the answer. You can lower cortisol without antidepressants. In the future, if you ever decided to taper off these meds you would get a huge rebound of cortisol and feel much worse.
