i think it has to do with body burden. if you do a
Liver Flush and enough toxins come out to bring you under a threshhold that was causing disease and distress, then the relief will be felt and be more pronounced than someone who flushes but is already below a discernable level and doesnt feel much of anything.
its important to decide what is good and safe and necessary to do and learn from the results, not stop doing them because of the results. plug a big hole and all the little ones start leaking.
so the answer is that if an effective modality is used and great benefit is gained from it then it is less likely other even more effective plans can be tried without achieving that level of relief again. the relief has already been had.
iodine is a little different because the more negative the reaction to it, the more it is needed. also, the first reaction is always the worst. after the first time you have some notion of what to expect, unless youre low dosing ridiculous amounts. people are totally on their own doing that. i cringe every time i read "one drop of 2% lugols." {{{{shudder}}}}
