I haven't often posted in the time that I have been a member, but this forum has been a lifeline for me. I hope very soon to be able to give a detailed posting which will be archived as a success story. I am about 80% recovered from the nightmare which began four and half years ago and am still improving week by week. I was excited to see your post and just wanted to say that I reintroduced starch two weeks ago. It was terrifying. To have come so far and then to risk it all on the roll of the carb dice. The first week was strange and last Friday I thought a really bad flare was just around the corner. It never came. I truly believe you are on the right track. Since reintroducing starch my stools have normalized, my energy is up, brain fog has gone (I thought it had gone already until I realised this week how much clearer things could actually be). I certainly haven't gone all the way to 80/10/10 like you and think it might be a bit much for me. I am instead aiming for the PHD (Perfect Health Diet)and focusing on resistant starch (read about it on freetheanimal.com.) I agree with you however, that a ketogenic diet keeps us sick and really wish I had taken this step sooner. I wonder though, if this is best left until most major symptoms have been resolved. Good luck and I'll keep you posted as to my progress.
