Plasta Cheilitis!

Okay guys,
I went back to the dermatologist for the first time since November, this time to the same office but a different doctor. Completely different experience where she answered all my questions in comparison to the first one who gave no fu**s and threw me on cortizone without asking 1 single question.

Anyway she gave me Mycolog II, which is a Nystatic ointment/cream that is an antifungal steroid. Its prescribed for use no longer than 10 days and it worked after 3. The cracks in my lips filled up and I'm 100℅ sure that was the problem. I can't see EC coming back because I don't have thrush in my mouth and my system is clean from diet and exercise.

My lips looked exactly like MontrealHomegrown's in the gallery. Plasta cheilitis is caused by fungus on the lips and is perpetuated by biting and licking which opens wounds in the lips for the fungus to get into. This makes total sense as its common in smokers.

I tried a lot of topical remedies, calendula, aquaphor, cortisone and none of them worked. I wish I came upon this possibility before.
