Re: Not a Fan of Iodine Supplementation

--- "What exactly is the body withdrawing from?"

The link I previously posted explained it.

--- "These higher saturated fat intakes are not in the context of very low carb or zero carb, so they cannot be applied to my way of eating."

Yes, but you're just bandaiding your blood Sugar problem by eliminating enough carbs where the high-fat doesn't cause it to become a problem.

--- "my blood work prior to eating zero carb showed disastrous numbers."

Because you were eating too much fat and carbs in the same diet.

--- "The majority of prehistoric diets consisted of meat and fat, evidenced by the lack of vegetable residue in the bones of prehistoric remnants."

That has been debunked:

The Paleo Diet Is Uncivilized (And Unhealthy and Untrue)

--- "Check out the Inuit's native diet"

That's been recently debunked:

"It has been suggested that because the fats of the Inuit's wild-caught game are largely monounsaturated and rich in omega-3 fatty acids, the diet does not pose the same health risks as a typical Western high-fat diet.[23] However, evidence has shown that Inuit have a similar prevalence of coronary artery disease as non-Inuit populations and they have excessive mortality due to cerebrovascular strokes.[24]""

--- "I simply cannot test a low-fat, high-carb diet on myself again."

But I'm telling you, you most likely weren't low-fat. Low-fat is 20% and under.

--- "You are simply incorrect in your analysis. If you pick up any modern biochemistry textbook, it will set you straight."

Any modern medical book will state that carbs are the body's preferred source of fuel and most major medical orgs promote a diet more like mine than yours.

--- "Consuming low-fat along with carbs is disastrous. I tried it a while back just to see what would happen. I had severe pain that mimicked pancreatitis and ended up blacking out while driving due to low blood sugar."

How long did you try it and what was your fat percentage? A couple people have complained they felt like crap when trying to reintroduce more carbs. Your body has to convert back over to giving priority to metabolizing carbs, kinda like how people first feel like crap when switching to low-carb.

--- "I also seriously doubt your claim that "everyone" who has ever tried this low-fat regime has improved their health problems. Such blanket statements cannot be taken seriously."

Here's a few examples:

//www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=2139366
//www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=2176681

--- "I am not looking for an alternative or a change from my diet. I am in great health because of it, and will only ever alter it if I see negative effects from it, which I haven't in the 4 years I've been eating it."

I took over 5 years before I started falling apart on a low-carb diet. Seemed like I was living off cheese and almond butter. I'm just giving you a head's up warning about all this.

I'd still recommend you do a true low-fat experiment for at least a month of eating high-carb and no overt-fats to ensure you're not eating too much fat. Track what you eat on cronometer and track your blood Sugar along the way. It's the only way to truly know.
