i do not understand your question. What would indicte a root canal? You either have one or don't-you would know. root canals are always infected-if you have a root canal you have a chronic infection and should get it removed.
You certainly can have a dental infection without having a root canal. I have had several.
chronic infections (usually dental) are almost always missed.
