Re: Not a Fan of Iodine Supplementation
I've been eating this way for four years. My blood
Sugar symptoms have only improved, so I disagree.
My body runs primarily on fat. Only a tiny amount of glucose is needed when your body is in this state, and that is made from glucogenic amino acids in the protein consumed and the glycerol backbone of fatty acids.
Excess fat is not the cause of blood
Sugar problems.
In fact, this is the subject of my dissertation in school.
If you check out a biochemistry textbook, it will layout what I am explaining. The body switches to an entirely different energy source for most of its cells.
The only thing that can still cause hypoglycemia for me on this way of eating is consuming too much protein. Protein requires insulin to be utilized, so if I stay right at around 45 grams per day I am fine. If I eat more than that, I get milder but similar symptoms to those I had when I ate carbs.
