Re: Liver Stone Disease

I believe I have the Liver Stone Disease that you mentioned. I have been in the hospital 4 times to have stones removed. Although I have had my Gallbladder removed over 10 years ago. I was originally told that the stones I had were created by the Gallbladder, but we have found that my liver creates these bilirubinate stones you mentioned. Every time an ultrasound has been done, no stones show in my common bile duct or anywhere else, but the size of the common bile duct becomes 3 times larger than normal and this is how they know I have a blockage in the common bile duct (the pain I experience too). So to answer your question, these types of stones do not show up on imaging. After every surgery I have been told that I had numerous large stones backed up in my common bile duct.
