Based on your symptoms, especially those of the gastrointestinal & urinary tracts, I agree with your line of thinking about having Schistosomiasis.   

Mebendazole targets nematode/roundworm infections in the GI Tract.  However, since it provided some temporary relief for you, I suspect you're also co-infected with Pancreatic and/or Intestinal Flukes.  

Many medical cases & studies I've researched over the years show how unpredictable the results of parasite meds can be!  

In your case, I suspect the Mebendazole thinned out a herd of Intestinal Flukes somewhat....or the toxic waste given off by other dying parasites killed them off (collateral damage)!  (lol) 

The best tactic in battling parasites is to keep rotating your meds arsenal on a regular basis to preclude drug resistance & hopefully get in synch with their life cycle.  Brace yourself....trying to figure the right combinations is like solving a Rubik's Cube!  (lol)
