I ask because, I just realized for the past year I've gone without problems, I started working out hardcore and was taking a protein supplement called Myoplex. One of the ingredients in this supplement is a mineral/vitamin called L-Glutamine.
For the whole of yesterday and most of this morning I was searching throughout the archives and found quite a few testimonials of people having success with L-Glutamine and N Acetyl Glucosamine, both of which are used for the treatment of Leaky Gut syndrome, specifically to heal the intestinal wall, which in turn prevents waste material from leaking into the bloodstream.
Around August - September, I occasionally noticed a few fart smells hear and there, but October 12, specifically, was when I noticed the smell came back. It was gradual. What I also realized is that sometime around July-September (can't remember exactly) Myoplex upgraded there formula with different ingredients and removed some. One of those was L-Glutamine. I didn't noticed glutamine was removed, or even know about it glutamine itself back then, so I never researched it.
Back then, I was able to work out, play ball, and do anything strenuous without the odor showing up. I was even eating donuts, cupcakes and pizza without any problems. Then the odor came back pretty bad. However as of now, I've gotten it back down under control, but with a very strict diet and I can't do any thing very physical. Here's a summation of what I do now.
What I'm thinking is that the Myoplex actually ended up half healing my intestinal wall, which only decreased the amount of permeability that occurred, which might explain why only on two specific occasions during my good year that a faint fart smell occurred. Both times, I was extremely nervous and paranoid with the girls I was dating at the time.
What I suspect weakened the wall was the creatine supplements I started taking after I got hired at Fed-Ex. Want to guess when this was?
So, If you're reading this, you most likely haven't found a solid solution to your FBO problem. I want to know have you tried L-Glutamine, N-A-G, or products containing them.
-If so, what was your experience?
-If not, would you consider trying it?
-Do you think your symptoms coincide with that of the symptoms of Leaky Gut victims?
1. food allergies or food intolerances . (This makes a whole lot of sense, like how the f*** am I all of a sudden allergic to gluten, dairy and peanuts?)
2. Digestive issues such as gas, bloating, diarrhea or irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). (Another good one.)
3. Hormonal imbalances such as PMS or PCOS.
4. Diagnosis of an autoimmune disease such as Rheumatoid Arthritis , Hashimotoís thyroiditis, lupus, or celiac disease.
5. Diagnosis of chronic fatigue or fibromyalgia. (And another)
6. Mood and mind issues such as depression, anxiety, ADD or ADHD. (Word)
7. Skin issues such as acne, rosacea, psoriasis, or eczema. (Spot on)
8. Diagnosis of candida overgrowth. (Maybe)
9. Seasonal allergies or asthma.
I plan of trying L-Glutamine and seeing what happens. However, when I was searching through the archives, I constantly came across a lady who very much seemed like she was advertising and pushing a product called Intestinew which supposedly treats Leaky Gut using L-Glutamine, N-A-G and a few other herbs. So, right now I debating whether I should get L-Glutamine by itself (which has more concentrated in grams) or try this product Intestinew (has less glutamine, but is combined with other ingredients to further heal the intestine). I looked at reviews on the site. Itself some seem legit, and some seemed phony.
