Re: Suffering from toxic mold exposure for 3 months, please help!

Im sorry to hear about your health issues. As far as toxic funghi exposure there aint a lot of solid information available im afraid. There is a very slim chance you will find a healthcare specialist that will be able to help you here. The majority if not all will not subscribe any of your symptoms to mold exposure apart from an allergic reaction. There just isnt enough evidence at this point that backs up anykind of illness due to toxic mold exposure unless ur suffering from a serious immunosuppresing disease already before exposure (like hiv or cancer).
As alternative sites do subscribe a massive amount of health issues to toxic mold its possible that some of your symptoms are related to mold exposure. But as it are the mycotoxins realeased by the mold that would be the problem and not the actual fungal spores its almost impossible to have examed. Mycotoxins will never show in regular blood tests nor will they ever look for any. Antifungal medicines will not kill off mycotoxins.
The only thing u can do is leave the place, which u already did. If your health problems were caused due totoxic mold then you would gradually feel better once you're no longer exposed. This could take a long while. Also as some sites claim you will be extremely sensitive to re-exposure with sudden flare ups of symptoms if your in the presence again of toxic mold.
I myself have lived in a house which turned to be filled with black mold for 9 months and left due to extreme illness. I never been able to proof this was due to mold exposure nor did i ever knew exactly what kind of mold was present in that house. All i know is that my white and red blood cells were dropping at a very fast rate when i lived there, that i had almost every symptom some sites say to be caused by toxic black mold and that (even after have moved out for months) my hands turn red and become painfull when i touched stuff that comes from that house.
Ive thrown most of my stuff away to be sure.
Ive been diagnosed with 3 fungal infections and a bacterial infection shortly after i already moved out. Ive been asked several times if i had either aids or cancer by doctors as having this amount of funfal infections was impossible for me to have otherwise. I have been on 400mg itraconazole for 3 months followed by 2 months of 200mg fluconazole daily. Alongside of that ive been battling symptoms for 2 years with various of natural substances / diet changes with a very slow but progressive success.
I must admit though that i already had a possible candida problem before exposure and that i already had a lot of health issues due to this, though they absolutely skyrocketed in my formal home.
The most important thing for you to do is to get tested for any possible fungal infections. Mention your hair loss and ask if they can check your hairs for possible infections. Which funghi was detected in your dorm? Very important to know. Aspergillus or Penicilinium for example can cause infections to humans, which is possible for you to get tested for. You can mention these things at a regular doctor also. I would ask for an extensive blood examination anyway in your case and see a dermatologist about your hair loss/ problems. You can tell them about your concern of mold exposure but i suggest to keep it simple as in allergy/blood/infection test and or possible underlying health problem which could make you more sensitive to fungal related health problems. I wouldnt mention candida or any kind of psychological problem like anxiety to avoid that they wont take you serious.
Most important of all: Live healthy and whatch what you eat!
Limit sugars/artificial sugars/fructose/carbohydrates/dairy as much as possible.
What i also recommend is to drink fresh squeezed lemon juice and 2 or 3 gloves of garlic crushed in boiled water a couple of times a week. Be carefull in the beginning though and first check how u react to half a lemon and try 1 gloveof garlic first the next day. They both are very strong natural anti fungals which can result in severe die-off symptoms due to dying fungus if u take a high dose at start.
One last thing that is really important is to try to have as less stress as possible. stress is extremely damaging for your entire body and will cause candida growth. Its almost impossible to avoid though since u got anxiety problems which worsen in public. I know exactly what ure going trough as ive experienced this personally also. U have to consider the possibility also that u might have psychological problems aside from your health problems which might need independant threatment. It's possible that your health problems trigger the anxiety. But its also possible the anxiety was already there and is merely exposed and increased due to a worsening health. In both cases the anxiety will have a negative effect on your entire health and will only get you in a donwards going spiral.
I personally have tried several medications against anxiety with little success though. While they did work on some level against anxiety (some little some heavy) they never changed the fact that i still felt like shit all the time. The best results of minimizing my anxiety ive still booked with trying to become more healthy and trying to keep candida under control.
Sorry for the long story, hope its understandable and useable for you. If u have any question u can always pm me. Take care.
