Friedreich's Ataxia and Water fast?
Hey guys!
Day 3 of my
Water Fast just started and i am not sure if i should keep doing it or not.
I am suffering from a genetical disease called Friedreich's Ataxia, a neurological disease effecting the central nerv system. For this reason i sit in a whelchair. The disease is progessive but i am fine - means my immunsystem is okay and my upper body still works pretty good.
I started this
Water Fast and already when i woke up on my second day (about 40 hours from my last meal) i had pain in my legs and hands, i was so weak i couldnt even adress the muscles in my legs and the whole day i couldn't really do or concentrate on anything. Throughout the day my pains and weakness got better and worse again. (At the moment i can adress my legs but i dont have any balance in my upper body at all - I cant even get into or out of the bed myself.
For 2 years i am walking spiritual/alternative ways now and half a year ago i did a 9 day juice fast and got weak as well - but not even almost as bad as now. I tried to do a
Water Fast once as well but i had to stop because i had so much pain.
My question basicly is what you think i should do considering my condition. Do you think i should just go on with the fast and see what happens or am i doing my body nothing good by forcing myself through it? And if it is not good what should i do, just stop the fast and go back to eating or switch to a juice fast?
Thank you so much for your answers in advance!
Love,
Fiailia
Update: I stoped the fast due to not standable pain and complete loss of body control. I am refeeding now.
For everyone else reading this and having Friereich's ataxia: if you want to fast you better go for a juice fast.
