Re: Mouth/Teeth Question?

To clarify, these stones don't come up from the throat, they come out of the tonsils, which are at the back of your mouth. It may seem they come up from the throat because if they pop out unnoticed and start to get swallowed, but then don't, you'll cough them forward.

I wanted to make this distinction because, if indeed what you have IS coming up from your throat, it may be something completely different.

I first noticed getting these stones when I was 11 or 12. The info I posted before comes from my Mother, who is an LPN, and also has these "stones" periodically. After reading your post, I decided to do a little internet research on the tonsils.

Interestingly, most sites on tonsils address only children's symptoms, and only one out of the ten or so I looked at made any reference to the "stones" at all:

"White debris in the tonsils..."chronic cryptic tonsillitis". The tonsils contain many pits and pockets...called crypts. These, in some patients, tend to become impacted with white foul-smelling (especially to the owner) debris that is composed of bacteria and dead cells. It may cause a low grade intermittent sore throat. Antibiotics are only transiently helpful. Some patients will use various mechanical picks and swabs to attempt removal. The only consistent cure is a tonsillectomy...although the problem often is minor enough that no therapy is necessary."

My Mom taught me to take a q-tip swab, press it gently against the opening of the tonsil (you can see it pretty clearly if you have a lighted mirror, and especially with a magnifying lighted mirror - like a make up mirror), and if stones are there, they will basically just pop out. She also cautioned me not to do it much or often, though, as the tonsils will get sore.

When I was on the cleanse (22 days), I do recall having the stones at one point in the process and wondering if it was prompted by the removal of toxins from the cleanse.

Whether being on the cleanse for x amount of time would alleviate the stones altogether and forever, I don't know. They can be a little icky and maybe a tad uncomfortable, but if it's helping my body get rid of things I don't need, I can deal. That's my thought on it, anyway.

I hope this info is additionally helpful. If nothing else, now you don't feel like the Lone "Stone" Ranger. ;)

Best of luck as you continue your cleanse!
