Re: Could use some support - starting a fast to heal aftermath of ruptured appendix

Dear CatVersusRoomba and DesertLili,

Thank you both for chiming in on my post. I'm deeply appreciative of your input despite their polarity. My intention was not to incite ill feelings between anyone. I am just a man who is scared and desperate right now and is surrendering himself to the wisdom of strangers who know more about natural healing than he does.

CatVersusRoomba:

I feel like I owe it to myself to try everything natural under the sun to -heal- myself before I subject myself to drugs and pain management. The pain is not unbearable - honestly if it's a pinched nerve I can live with it. It is the deep seated fear of another appendicitis episode or something worse.

Going to the ER being told by a doctor in a panicked tone that I'm not making it home if I don't have surgery ASAP leaves traumatic psychic scars. Lying in bed hooked up to IVs and knowing your internal flora is getting absolutely obliterated day in and out on strong Antibiotics and dealing with the aftermath later (it sucked) still makes me shiver. This is what I'm scared of.

Searching on the internet for over 100s of hours since my incident, it seems allopathic medicine has a very poor diagnostic rate for RLQ abdominal pain and also there is no technology that accurately detects adhesions or nerve damage barring a laprascopic examination -- something I really want to avoid because ironically that creates more adhesions.

I'm going to give fasting a go for a couple of weeks and see how I do, if there is no improvement then I will take your advice to heart.

DesertLili:

Thank you so much for being the guiding star I looking for. I understand I am biased because you are telling me exactly what I came here to hear but something deep inside of me says I'm doing the right thing. If anything, the fasting has a plethora of other benefits that will help me cleanse and reboot whatever it was I was doing wrong to land me in the ER in the first place.

I've actually already started a juice fast and it's now day 7. The pain has subsided significantly but is still there lingering about now and then but nowhere near as incessant or intense as before. This could be because I have zero solid food in my digestive track so there is no bulk to press against any nerves if Cat's analysis is correct. I'm going to cross my fingers and hope it's just the decimated area of my body getting better.

In your opinion do you see a benefit in transitioning into a full water fast? My energy levels are good, I feel more vibrant and lighter currently. I just don't want to make the same mistake I did before and go back to eating solid food before the pain is completely eradicated.

I will look into your vitamin protocol when I come out of the fast. I'll also check out the free video :)

Thank you again all - I still welcome anymore opinions or advice from folks here!
