Could use some support - starting a fast to heal aftermath of ruptured appendix

Hi there,

I really could use some support and guidance to either affirm or deter me from the fast I'm about to embark on. The details of my story and issue are below.

Background:

1. 30 yr old male
2. Healthy and active up until a couple of months ago - no health problems, no previous surgeries, doesn't smoke/drink etc
3. No family history of illnesses

Incident:

I was on vacation about two months ago when my appendix ruptured. I had felt a soreness and pain which I chalked up to a hernia or muscle strain. This pain continued and intensified without becoming better. Pain never grew more than 6/10 but had me hobbling around and eventually looking for the ER. CT scan revealed a baseball sized abscess (where the appendix should be) and no sign of the appendix. Not sure why I wasn't in extreme pain as I assumed I would be with regards to appendix bursting.

Doctor decided to drain it and monitor me over the next 5 days. I refused solid food and drank water, apple juice and broth for 5 days (felt fine). Ultrasound revealed abscess had shrunk to the point where they removed the drain and discharged me. Tons of Antibiotics and another round of post-discharge.

Current problem:

It's been close to 2 months now and I still have lingering pain where my appendix use to be. The pain is magnified when I have a full bladder or eat solid food. The pain is intermittent but lately it's been more consistent. The area has been harder and more pronounced to the touch since the day they discharged me, I assumed it's scar tissue. Pain is usually from a 1-2 out of 10. Multiple blood work over the first 4 weeks post-discharge revealed perfect numbers, no indicator of inflammation. Is this scar tissue?

Plan of action:

I've had a super clean diet since being discharged, I started off on a juices and bone broth for the first few days and when the pain tapered off I started eating solid food again. Things were going fine for a couple of days then the pain started coming back. I'd back off and go to the doctor's and was told "it's just healing I wouldn't worry about it". This went on for about a month.

I have some imaging coming up in a little over a week - I really don't want them cutting me open or doing something invasive so I plan on fasting either on juices or water for an extended period of time (2 weeks+). Aside from the lingering pain my right lower quadrant abdomen, I feel normal.

I was having 2-3 bowel movements a day while on solid food (since being discharged from the hospital) ensuring that I eat veggies, fruits and healthy protein (cooked fish, chicken etc). I scared to death that the pain will translate into another hospital stay if I don't make a change for complete healing right now. I just don't know what else to do.

I feel unsure of myself at this point and I'm looking to folks here who have more experience and wisdom to let me know if I'm doing the right thing.

If anyone has any insight, advice, or even words of encouragement I'd be deeply appreciative -- I've never had to take my health into my own hands in such a manner until now.

Thanks
