Re: Pemphigus vulgaris

To make sure you have it, your doctor should test for the desmoglein antibodies? It is good you found out the cause if it is the cause, but the bad news is it is lifelong treatment that involves corticosteroids. I never wanted to take corticosteroids because it makes your face look bloated. There are long-term health risks as well. For another condition I thought I might need to take corticosteroids for, I researched alternatives to Prednisone.

See summary article, which states,

HERBS-(to be taken with food)
500 mg ginger twice per day---------------------
400 to 600 mg capsule curcumin three times per day
*(expect 6 to 8 weeks to see results)
DIET-----------------------
Reduce intake of milk & animal protein
Avoid polyunsaturated vegetable oils & trans-fatty acids
Increase intake of omega-3 fatty acids and organic fruits and vegetables---------
ANTIOXIDANTS-----------------
Breakfast---1000 to 2000 mg of vitamin C & 25,000 IU of mixed
carotenes.---------
Lunch---400 to 800 IU of vitamin E and 200 MCG. selenium
Dinner---1000 to 2000 mg of vitamin C -----------------

It is easier just to remember:

500 mg Ginger 2x/day
400 to 600 mg capsule Curcumin 3x/day
