Coughing Every Morning 4-5AM For 3 Months..?

What could this be?

I'm fine all day and night but I get a violent cough every morning around 4-5am.. I'm coughing up mainly clear mucous but every once in a while I cough up something like this:

Why when I cough yellow crap is it ALWAYS in the shape of a worm thought I doubt that's what it is (see pic)..? strange..

I went to a doctor at a walk in clinic and he claims its allergies and game me some samples of corticosteroids to shoot up my nose... (lol) didn't take them I think he's nuts.
