I highly doubt your getting too much potassium. The recommended daily intake for potassium is 4700mg a day. I go out of my way to eat potassium rich foods and even use potassium supplements and struggle to get to 4700mg daily.

I have to agree with what others have said, sounds like intestinal pathogens. They can be extremely stubborn.
