Re: what is the correct way to sleep?
That's true. Some people literally CAN'T get into a fetal position, much less sleep that way.
I move a fair amount in my sleep. I don't mean tossing and turning, just changing positions. So I sleep on my right the most, then back, then left, then back over to the right again (I assume). I don't snore, and I breathe through my nose, so I don't get a dry mouth. I have quite open nasal passages, plus I kindof lift the palate (I'm a singer so I guess it's easier for me, we have to practice breathing with the diaphragm and lifting the palate, etc. while we're awake until it becomes pretty much second nature. I'll bet that helps.
The main thing about sleeping on my right side is trying to get the right arm/shoulder into position. In the wrong position, the arm goes to sleep - particularly if I am lying directly on the arm. If the shoulder is forward, it is pulling the shoulder out. If it is back, that feels awkward, or else I am sleeping twisted. So I'm still trying to get the shoulder into the optimal position.
