As "grist for your mill" are you aware that the hydrogen form of vitamin C, i.e. ascorbic acid [the form all of the animals produce for themselves], is TWICE as potent, gram-for-gram, as the mineral ascorbates, e.g. sodium, calcium, etc.?
The only precaution I would have when taking your ascorbate in tablet form, would be to NOT take tablets with calcium as the filler, i.e. usually the second ingredient listed. The brand I use has cellulose as the filler, and I think that is best.
