Removal is generally painless if it's not imbedded. Easier than a pap smear, at least mine was. If it were me, I'd wait a few months to start trying for a baby, because of the fake hormones that have cause women so many terrible side effects. Hard to guess how you will feel after having it out, but most of us experience a crash from withdrawal of the fake hormones. Most women who can't lose an ounce no matter what on Mirena are able to lose weight after removal easily.
